Uptown Unveiled! is a free street fair on Thursday, June 18, 2009 that will offer a glimpse into the hip, happening Uptown neighborhood. Running from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. centered in and round Telegraph Avenue from 16th Street to West Grand/Broadway, the event will encompass and feature live music on three stages, activities at the famed Fox Oakland Theater, Oakland School for the Arts, Oakland Ice Center and the new Fox Square mini-park in addition to area art galleries, restaurants, shops and nightspots. http://www.meetdowntownoak.com


Best of the East Bay Party Main Stage Line-Up ,

The East Bay Express‘s Best of the East Bay Party on August 7th at the Oakland Museum of California will feature the following bands on the Amoeba Music main stage:

Superfinos VTO, The Thrill of it All, Mystic Rage, Swann Danger, Souls of Mischief, C U Next Weekend (Shampu), Dizzy Balloon, Social Unrest, Fracas, and Goapele

The festival includes 7 other stages, live art, film, dance, Style Lounge of great local designers, Chabot Space & Science Center Kid’s Party Zone, food and vendor villages, and other celebrations of East Bay talent and creativity.

5pm – Midnight

Free, all ages

1000 Oak Street, Oakland

Take BART or use the event’s Bike Valet Parking
